Eleven year old St Thomas More Student Lauryn Rolle is The Bahamas Primary School Student of the year 2013. On May 18 Lauryn captured the title out of 123 nominees from 6,000 primary school students in the country to win a $5,000 scholarship from Bank of The Bahamas.
This dynamic student is an inspiring example of the pursuit of excellence. She has achieved first place honours in each class since grade one and maintains a cumulative average of 4.00.
“BOB is very pleased to support such an excellent and motivated student as Lauryn in furthering her education. We congratulate her and all of the other outstanding students who were honoured today,” said Dominique Thompson, Marketing Manager, BOB.
Lauryn is a Brownie leader at St. Thomas More and a member of the Tonique Williams-Darling Track Club, her school’s track club and the Barracuda’s Swim Club. She is also an entrepreneur, having started her own company Drama Queens Inc. at the age of six. To top it off this amazing young lady is active in her community. She volunteers to assist several children’s homes and gives her time and personal funds to assist the organization Hands for Hunger.
