Bank of The Bahamas continues to positively impact youth development throughout The Bahamas. In the first three months of 2017 the Bank provided sponsorships or donations to five organizations that are working to empower and develop youth.
The Bank donated funds to The National L.E.A.D. Institute to assist with its programs for “at risk” juveniles and essential work of helping former inmates of prison and correctional facilities to get their lives back on track.
In March the Bank also sponsored S.T.R.A.W. Inc.’s Centre for Women’s 13th Annual Girls Leadership Conference. This event brought together young girls from New Providence and The Family Islands to participate in a full day of workshops focusing on leadership, character and team building skills.
“At Bank of The Bahamas we understand that the youth are the future and we are very pleased to invest in these worthy programs because they are helping to create a better Bahamas,” said Byron Miller,” Senior Manager, Business Development, BOB.
In 2017 the Bank also helped to purchase musical instruments for the Boys Club of The Bahamas and provided support to the Gentleman’s Club in its scholarship fundraising efforts. BOB is also supporting the National Youth Choir in its 27th season.
