BOB (Bank of The Bahamas Limited) founding partner of the International Cultural Festival will be on hand as the official bank of the 18th Annual International Cultural Festival (ICF) that’s set for October 19 -20 at the Botanical Gardens in Nassau. The Bank is once again providing a cashless environment for the festival including BOB festival dollars to enable vendors and patrons to transact business more securely during the two-day event.
Paul McWeeney, Managing Director of BOB said the Bank’s commitment to provide banking services for the Festival is BOB’s gift to the community especially during its 25th Anniversary Celebrations this month.
“The International Cultural Festival is a one-of-a-kind event that showcases all the peoples and cultures of The Bahamas like no other. BOB provides banking services to both local and international clients every day through our 13 retail branches and our private banking & trust arm so we are delighted to provide a sample of the range of services we offer to such a diverse group of residents,” Mr. McWeeney said.
According to Janet Johnson, Chairman of the ICF, organizers are expecting that this year’s festival will be the best yet with 140 vendors representing some 29 countries in food, art, and cultural entertainment. It is also anticipated that some 30,000 people persons will patronize the two-day event to enjoy a variety of ethnic foods and music while socializing and meeting old and new friends.
“Preparations have been ongoing since February to make this an exciting and enjoyable event for the public. Enthusiasm is very high. We are thankful to BOB for partnering with us once again to help make this a first class and safe event for all,” Ms. Johnson said.
