BOB is gearing up for the 19th Annual International Cultural Festival scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19, 2014 at the Botanical Gardens. As the exclusive bank of the Festival BOB will once again provide a cashless environment for the two-day event that celebrates the rich diversity of cultures resident within The Bahamas.
“We have a squad of more than 60 employees working the Festival this weekend,” said Anastasia Russell, Assistant Manager, Sales and Service, BOB. “Our Festival team includes staff from tellers to Executive Management and everyone is doing their part to ensure an efficient cashless system for the event,” she said.
Thanks to BOB’s contribution to the ICF well over 100 vendors from countries around the world will be able to transact business securely without having to worry about keeping large amounts of cash on hand. BOB’s junkanoo festival dollars are the sole currency for the Festival and these can only be obtained at BOB banks on the Festival grounds.
This year’s cultural festival will feature culinary delights from countries like Ethiopia, Spain, India, China and the Philippines in addition to a regional showing of almost 30 booths from the Caribbean and great local representation by than more than 40 Bahamas booths according to Sheila Bethel, Marketing Director, ICF.
While many festival patrons come mainly to sample the wide array of International foods and delicacies, Ms. Bethel says patrons can also expect to see great international stage performances from groups including the Urban Renewal Band, the COB Choir and Willis & the Illest; not to mention exciting cultural dancers from India’s Bollywood and other featured countries!
