The September 12th edition of the Ministry of Labour’s Consumer Voice Supplement will feature an article on Trusts contributed by Dianne Bingham, Senior Manager, Trusts, BOB. The article entitled “Trusts: A Superior Alternative to Wills” takes a look at the advantages of Trusts over traditional wills and possibilities for combining Wills and Trusts.
According to Dianne Bingham, Senior Manager, Trusts at Bank of The Bahamas Limited, an increasing number of Bahamians are looking at trusts as an alternative means of passing on their legacy and providing for loved ones after they are gone.
“In fifteen years, BOB’s Trust Assets Under Management have grown to almost $100 million dollars. In Fiscal year 2014 the Trust saw year over year growth of more than 23%. This alone speaks to the increased trend that we are seeing with regard to the use and acceptance of the Trust as the alternative planning tool of choice for Bahamians,” Mrs. Bingham said.
